They make sure their football players have a daily reminder about avoiding temptation.
Located in the hallway outside of their Neyland-Thompson Sports Center locker room, a large sign lists major concerns and NCAA regulations for players to abide by.
At the bottom, in big bold letters, it reads "NO GAMBLING."
It's a point of emphasis for Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer.
"We talk to them a lot," he said. "We bring in the FBI, and the TBI and the local police to talk to them about that.
"There's a former mobster who comes in who got caught up in all that, did his time, and now that's part of his thing. He goes out and speaks to colleges about paying the price for gambling and how it all operates."
Who better to talk about the evils of parlays, bookies and point spreads than a "mobster?"
Tennessee officials hit the gambling theme hard when Vol players report to campus in early August. But it doesn't end there.
"We do it two or three times," Fulmer said. "We've got a big thing in the hallway hanging on the wall about gambling.
"I talk to them constantly."
It goes further than simply participating in gambling.
Fulmer doesn't want his players talking to anyone who might have any connections to the outside betting world.
"It's easy enough for someone to call them up and say how is so and so's ankle," Fulmer said. "You think it's innocent, but it might be a gambler looking for information.
"The FBI's recording it and all of a sudden you're in it and involved. We go at that really hard. It's a scary proposition with somebody buying a player off. It's always a concern."
