Floridas 38-28 victory over Arkansas on Saturday night in the SEC championship game all but assures the Vols a New Years Day bowl game in Florida.
The Capital One Bowl in Orlando is Tennessees most likely destination, according to a scenario laid out by UT athletic director Mike Hamilton earlier this week.
UT offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe, in Murfreesboro for the high school football championships, indicated Saturday night he also expects the Vols to be in Orlando.
The Capital One, which has the first pick of SEC teams after the BCS, will officially choose when its scouts vote at 1 p.m. today.
If the Vols (9-3) wind up in Orlando as expected, theyll face No. 7 Wisconsin at 1 p.m. on Jan. 1. and will be televised by WATE.
The Badgers (11-1) are one of the reasons UT would jump ahead of Arkansas and Auburn to land in Orlando.
Auburn and Wisconsin faced each other in last years Capital One, and rematches arent generally appealing to bowl games.
Auburn likely will wind up in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, and Arkansas should go to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, after losing its last two games.
LSU is expected to receive a BCS at-large bid.
Florida (12-1) still has an outside chance to play for the national title, but that likely would not affect Tennessees destination for the postseason.
Should the Capital One choose either Arkansas or Auburn ahead of the Vols, Tennessee would not fall past the Outback or the Cotton.
The Vols last appearance in the Capital One came after the 2001 season, when it defeated Michigan, 45-17.
