Alexander, played line from 50-52, dies
Frank Alexander, an offensive end from 1950-52 on UT teams that went to
the Cotton Bowl twice, the Sugar Bowl and won a national championship,
died Tuesday morning at Jamestown, Tenn.
Mr. Alexander, 74, had been in hospice about three months during the final stages of cancer. He came to the Vols from Murphy, N.C., in 1949.
The family will receive friends 6-9 tonight at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, with burial at Allardt Cemetery.
