After all, 80 of the nation's top high school prospects will be on hand. All of the elite college programs, including Tennessee, will be represented.
Here are some of the names that UT fans should keep a close eye on this week for Saturday's game.
Sure bet
Jacques McClendon: There are some coaches who think McClendon has as much potential as any player the state of Tennessee has produced in recent history. This should be a good week for the 6-foot-3, 300pound lineman to prove himself.
It will be interesting to see where the East coaches decide to play the Chattanooga Baylor School star. McClendon played most of his high school snaps on the defensive line but is projected to be an offensive lineman in college.
McClendon, who was named Sunday to Parade's All-America High School Football Team, committed to UT in December 2004. He enjoyed his official visit to UT on Dec. 9 so much that it is understood that he is no longer considering other options, such as Auburn or Florida. McClendon hasn't been talking but he is scheduled to be available for interviews this week.
In the hunt
Clifton Geathers: Geathers has plenty of college options, as one would expect from an athletic 6-7, 280-pound lineman. The Carvers Bay (S.C.) High star has the frame that could give opposing allstars a challenge.
Geathers, a Parade All-American, is being recruited by UT defensive coordinator John Chavis, who has a long history of success in the Carolinas.
Jarrell Miller: The 6-3, 235-pound linebacker/fullback from Highland Springs (Va.) High is playing the recruiting game the old-fashioned way. Miller has taken five official visits and is not letting anyone know where he's leaning.
Miller, a Parade All-American, is considering UT, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech and may make an announcement Saturday.
Andre Smith: Does UT have a chance with the 6-4, 325-pound offensive lineman from Huffman High in Birmingham, Ala.? Smith already has taken official visits to Miami and Southern Cal and is scheduled to visit Florida and LSU this month.
UT must get on Smith's tight travel schedule if it hopes to land the Parade All-American. Smith is considering making his choice known Saturday.
Long shot
Stafon Johnson: This may be the longest of the long shots for UT. Johnson has only taken one official visit (USC) and the 5-11, 200-pound running back/safety from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles is likely staying home.
By all accounts, Johnson should be an exciting player to watch for any football fan. Johnson, a Parade All-American, is considering making an announcement Saturday.
Mitch Mustain: Conventional wisdom says this 6-3, 210-pound quarterback from Springdale (Ark.) High eventually will live up to his recently withdrawn commitment and play for Arkansas. Still, you can't blame UT's coaches for trying to land the Player of the Year on Parade's All-America team.
If the Vols can convince Mustain to take an official visit to Knoxville, then UT has a chance. Mustain has said he's also considering Notre Dame and Alabama.
Rob Rose: Of the long shots, this may UT's best shot. The 6-4, 255-pound defensive end/tight end from Glenville High in Cleveland, Ohio, is thought to be leaning towards Ohio State or Southern Cal.
Still, the Vols need to make a positive impression. They also are trying to land three of Rose's teammates. Rose is scheduled to announce his college decision Saturday.
Scouting the future
Percy Harvin and Tim Tebow: OK, neither of these star players are
headed to UT. They're both committed to Florida. UT fans, however, can
get a glimpse Saturday of what the SEC may have to defend in the near
future from the pair of Parade All-Americans.
Tebow, from Nease High in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., is one of the highest-rated quarterbacks in the nation. Harvin, from Landstown High in Virginia Beach, Va., is rated the nation's top receiver. Harvin considered UT early in the recruiting process.
