Russo: Pearl has the passion back
Passion is an emotion found within each of us. It's an emotion often necessary for one to succeed. Well, for the longest time, that passion has been missing from a program proud with tradition.
Enter Bruce Pearl and his desire to take Tennessee and its passion for basketball to the next level. Is he "Bruce Almighty" as one fan's poster read? Well, he doesn't have the powers exhibited by Jim Carrey in the movie by the same name, but he does have the charisma, which I believe is contagious. Yes, like coach, like fan!
Perfect example, Steve Spurrier, whose arrogance certainly rubbed off on the Gator Nation during the 1990s. I find it interesting now that Florida is finding UT's on-the-court celebration in poor taste. Can't we all get along?
I mean, what a rush it would be, being able to suffer the agony of defeat and enjoy the thrill of victory with, yes, dignity! But, most importantly, peace of mind.
