Foster's shoulder surgery successful
Foster will miss spring practice but should be able to participate in some voluntary, non-contact summer workouts.
"Arian is doing very well," said Foster's mother, Bernadette Foster.
The shoulder surgery was the second for Foster since the conclusion of the 2005 season. Foster had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee in November.
Foster, a redshirt freshman last season, was UT's starting tailback after senior Gerald Riggs Jr., suffered a season ending ankle injury on Oct. 22 against Alabama.
Foster ended the season with 916 yards and averaged 4.8 yards per carry. Foster topped 100 yards rushing in each of the final five games of the season after Riggs went down.
