Harrell glad to see Mapu

HOOVER, Ala. -- Tennessee defensive tackle Justin Harrell, for one, is anxious to see what kind of shape defensive lineman J.T. Mapu is in now that he's back from a two-year Mormon mission.

"He looks exactly the same as he did when he left,'' Harrell said Thursday at SEC Media Days. "When I saw him I just gave him a big old hug. We haven't really had a chance to talk yet.

"I'm just looking forward to seeing what kind of shape he's in and how much he can help the team. What he did his freshman and sophomore years was amazing. If he can do anything like that this year it'll be a plus for us.''

Kudos to Ausmus: Brent Schaeffer isn't the only ex-Vol that Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron is counting on.

Aaron Ausmus, a former UT All-American in the shot put from LaFollette, is the Rebels' head strength and conditioning coach.

"Aaron Ausmus has done a tremendous job with our football team over the summer,'' Orgeron said.

Extra Points: UT's Sept. 9 game with Air Force won't be among the SEC games selected for Fox Sports Net's yet-to-be-announced telecasts, said executive associate SEC commissioner Mark Womack. That means the game stays on pay-per-view at 7 p.m.
