Morgan picks Virginia Tech over Vols, Michigan

Davon Morgan from Varina High School in Richmond, Va., committed to Virginia Tech on Wednesday afternoon.

Morgan chose the Hokies over Tennessee and Michigan.

Morgan’s commitment comes as no surprise. Virginia Tech was the only school the 6-foot, 190-pound safety visited among the three.

"I was comfortable with them," Morgan said. "I was ready to get it over with. It feels really good knowing where I’m going so I can focus on my last year."

Morgan said Virginia Tech led the Vols and Wolverines virtually the entire recruiting process. He said UT would have had a better chance if they had offered more interest.

"I was feeling Tennessee at first," he said, "but they didn’t show me they wanted me too much."
