Jets sign Fayton

The New York Jets signed rookie free agent receiver C.J. Fayton, giving them four former University of Tennessee players on their roster.

The other ex-Vols on the roster are defensive end Shaun Ellis, running back Cedric Houston and center Trey Teague. The Jets also have quarterback Chad Pennington, a former Webb School star.

Fayton caught 74 passes for 981 yards and seven touchdowns in four seasons at UT, including 24 receptions for 272 yards and two touchdowns as a senior.

Fayton signed as a rookie free agent with the Chicago Bears on June 5 and was waived on June 29.
