Jaguars release Hand; Bears cut Fayton

The Jacksonville Jaguars waived former University of Tennessee defensive end Omari Hand.

Hand was signed by the Jaguars to their practice squad on Jan. 3.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Hand also spent two weeks in 2004 on the Jaguars' practice squad. He originally signed with San Diego as an undrafted rookie out of UT in 2003.

The Chicago Bears released wide receivers C.J. Fayton, an undrafted rookie free agent signed in June.

The 6-2, 205-pound Fayton impressed coaches while participating in the Bears' rookie minicamp May 5-7 on a tryout basis.
