Former Vol Hendrix gets probation
Hendrix received a probated 30-day sentence and was credited with two days already served. In addition, he was fined $950.
It was the second drug-related arrest in seven months for Hendrix, who was charged with possession of marijuana and driving without a license on Aug. 13 in his hometown of Covington, Ga. He was suspended indefinitely from the team on Sept. 5.
Hendrix was dismissed from the team Oct. 3 after a campus confrontation with football player Daniel Brooks who was also dismissed.
Little information was disclosed concerning the arrest, which occurred Saturday when a car in which Hendrix was a passenger was pulled over by an officer with the Department of Forestry in Bell County, the records show.
He was represented by Eric Edwards, a court-appointed attorney. Edwards could not be reached for comment.
