The wide receiver from Hoboken (N.J.) High School said he doesnt know how many scholarship offers he has received but that its "a lot."
Kamara said he has no leader among the colleges desiring his services.
"I try to keep in contact with a lot of the schools," the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder said. "I dont want to single anyone out, not right now."
Kamara has received offers from the top schools in the nation, including Tennessee, Southern California, Notre Dame, Miami (Fla.) and Florida.
Kamara said he is still trying to gather information on UT. He said he doesnt know much about the Vols other than what he has seen from watching them play on television.
"They compete for national championships," he said. "Theyre not just trying to win a couple games. Theyre trying to be the best of the best."
Kamara said he plans to take unofficial visits to a few schools to help trim his list, including UT, USC, Miami and Florida.
Kamara said he doesnt know how many teams he plans to leave on his list. Whatever the number, it should make the recruiting process easier.
"Its a big headache," he said.
Kamara has taken unofficial visits to Notre Dame, Penn State, Maryland, Connecticut and Rutgers.
He visited Notre Dame last weekend. Quarterback Irish commitment Jimmy Clausen of Westlake Village, Calif., also was on campus.
Kamara said Clausen tried to convince him to go to Notre Dame, but he said that wasnt a big deal.
"If any quarterback commits to any school," he said, "its the same that any quarterback would try to do."
Kamara has a connection to USC. Antwine Perez, a highly touted safety from Camden, N.J., signed a national letter of intent with USC on Feb. 1. Kamara said Perez is a plus for the Trojans.
"Thats big at any school I would choose," Kamara said. "Its nice to have someone from your area, New Jersey. I think thats important at any school you go to."
Kamara said he will lean on his parents and coaches for advice, but he said his parents have left it up to him.
"They want me to go somewhere where I feel that I would fit and I could live for four or five years and just be somewhere I want to be," he said.
