Barnes interviews for opening
Former Ole Miss men's basketball coach Rod Barnes was in Knoxville on
Wednesday and interviewed for the assistant opening on Bruce Pearl's
staff at Tennessee. He was one of five finalists to fill the vacancy
created after Scott Edgar was named coach at Southeast Missouri State.
Josh Oppenheimer, an assistant at Kent State, is expected to interview today or Friday.
Iowa State assistant Damon Archibald was in Knoxville last week. The two other candidates still under consideration are ABA coach/general manager Bob Sundvold and former Texas San-Antonio coach Tim Carter.
