Daniel Brooks, who was dismissed from the University of Tennessee football team in October, said he will enroll at Jackson (Miss.) State this summer.

Brooks finished up classes at UT this week.

The final straw at UT for Brooks, a junior who never was a starter for the Vols, was a fight with basketball players Jemere Hendrix and Andre Patterson.

Hendrix was dismissed from UT’s basketball team. Patterson was suspended but was later reinstated.

A 6-foot-2, 248-pound linebacker/defensive end, Brooks was one of UT’s top prospects in the 2003 signing class. The former Central-Merry High School star’s career was sidelined by a string of off-field incidents, most of which involved violence with fellow students but he was never charged.
