Georgia Tech's Young won't interview at UT
A source close to the Vols' program said Young didn't show the interest in the UT program that coach Bruce Pearl was looking for in a candidate.
Consequently, the search for an assistant coach to replace Scott Edgar, who left the Vols to become coach at Southeast Missouri State, might be extended.
Pearl could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
The five candidates who have interviewed for the position remain under consideration. They are: Kent State assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer, former Ole Miss coach Rod Barnes and former Iowa State assistant Damon Archibald, ABA coach/general manager Bob Sundvold and former Texas-San Antonio coach Tim Carter.
