Florida's Jones, not UT's Jones, gets Marshall job

University of Tennessee men's basketball associate head coach Tony Jones, who interviewed for the vacancy at Marshall, won't have to worry about leaving the Vols.

Florida assistant coach after Donnie Jones accepted the job at Marshall on Friday, a source close to the situation told The News Sentinel.

Jones, who was named Florida's associate head coach last year, was an assistant under Billy Donovan from 1994-96 there before following him to Florida.

Jones, who has coached alongside Bruce Pearl for two seasons at UT and four seasons at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, has been the primary recruiter on Pearl's staff.
