UT's JaJuan Smith cited for noise ordinance violation

Tennessee junior basketball player JaJuan Smith was cited for violation of a noise ordinance early Sunday morning outside of Broker's Pub on Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

DeBusk said there was a complaint of loud noise and disturbance outside of Broker's at approximately 2 a.m.

A police report states that officer Joshua Hurst responded to the call and found a car blasting its stereo.

The citation fee is $50. Smith can contest the citation and ask for a hearing, and he'll be granted a court date in the next four weeks, DeBusk said.

UT basketball head coach Bruce Pearl will continue to review the matter.
