University of Tennessee golfers Marci Turner and Nicole Smith were eliminated Thursday in the third round of the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Carmel, Ind.
Turner, a rising senior, lost 6 and 5 to two-time NGCA Division I Player of the Year Amanda Blumenhurst of Duke.
Earlier in the day, Turner defeated Mallory Blackwelder of Versailles, Ky., 1-up.
Smith’s run ended with a 2 up loss to Jennifer Song of Korea.
Smith, a rising junior, had advanced after eliminating Shanshan Feng of Hilton Head Island, S.C., 1-up.
