After spending their first two days in Europe walking throughout downtown Prague, the Tennessee basketball team enjoyed a leisurely boat cruise on the Vltava River Saturday morning in the Czech capital. The cruise was a chance for the UT players and coaches to spend time with several of the supporters who made the trip to Europe with them.

“It’s great getting to spend time getting to know the coaches and players like this,” Jerry Fortner, who along with his wife Nancy accompanied the Vols on the trip. “We have always supported the University of Tennessee athletics. This is great to experience the closeness and camaraderie of this team and also get to develop that kind of relationship with them. We will definitely do something like this again.”

The Fortners are two of the more than 30 supporters who accompanied the team on the trip. The group has joined the Vols on several of their tours while in Prague and have some additional tours planned when the team is busy attending class lectures or preparing for games. Sunday they will join the team on a tour of the Terezin Concentration Camp and Monday the supporters will tour the Moser Glass Factory and the Pilsner Urquell Brewery while the team is scheduled to do an activity in Prague for the class they are taking with UT history professor Dr. David Tompkins.

After the boat cruise several of the fans posed for photos with the players and coaches on the banks of the Vltava River with Prague Castle in the background.
