I will be watching on TV. We already had plans on a Christmas trip to Disney World with our 8 and 2 year old daughters, so we were not going Bowling regardless of the bowl the Vols landed in!

Spent all my extra dough going to the SEC title game! Lets beat the badgers and get 10 wins! GO VOLS!!!

watching it on tv as an appetizer for the other games to follow.

I'm gonna go but hope it isn't 75 degrees and raining like last year. I attended graduate school at Mizzou and that sucks that Kansas lost to them just a week ago on a neutral field, and gets the BCS bid over them. KU had the 95th worst schedule in the country, played exactly one team that even gets votes for the Top 25, lost to them, and goes to the Orange Bowl. Mizzou lost to the #4 BCS team twice, beat everyone else, including a non-conference win over Illinois, and gets sent to the Cotton. It is truly ridiculous how much power the bowls have and how little power the conferences have. Go Vols!!!

Good poll. That way the bean counters can guage how much they will make on the tickets that will be sold to the game. Another trip to another bowl game we will lose. No thanks, I will watch on TV until the ass kicking begins and I will turn it off.

I won't waste $2540.00 like I did last year to watch a f________ gutless performance by us. Over the last ten years I have spent thousands of dollars following our team CHOKE at NewYears Time. I Love Tennessee, but will not waste any more of my HARD EARNED DOLLARS on a team that will not put forth the effort to represent THE University of Tennessee.

tenndave writes:

IF you are that down on Ainge then do us all a favor and don't watch. We wouldn't have been there without him. Have some class and lay off the guy. He played, you didn't.
Go Vols!

Double Yawn!

RockyTopRooks writes:

If Ainge is going to start im not interested.

NCCOLTSFAN writes:

We'll kind of put closure on this season and make it a kick off to next year," Fulmer said Sunday. "We have a chance to win 10 ballgames and send the seniors out in fine fashion."
Anyone else see the double speak in this statement?
Oh!
He means stay the course!
Play the seniors and lose again.
Yup.
Great start for next year!
Good thing we didn't have to play any Gators,Tide,or Bears, the last half of the season!
JUST KEEPING IT REAL!

I'm moving from B'ham to Dallas and was hoping for the Cotton Bowl. Otherwise I would try and be there.

I was at last year's game and due to the early start and/or I was sitting in the Bob Uecker seats there was little or no crowd noise from our fans.

This one is important for recruiting lets get behind this team vocally and help our guys to the win!

GoVols!

I would guess Hamilton got the Outback bid by promising the Athletic Dept will buy UT's unsold ticket allotment.

Do you suppose that persons who voted as "not interested" are so disinterested that they didn't actually mean to hit this article and vote? :o))

Watching all the games and hoping all the SEC teams win. SEC has another good year of bowls to prove dominace.

You left out, Chugging Asprin and telling everybody to stop yelling because of what happened the night before.

All of you dumba$$es that responded "Not interested" are unbelievable. Why don't you identify yourselves right now, so we'll know we won't be subjected to any more of your daily my-life-sucks-so-I'll-take-it-out-on-the-Vols rants?

Find another team to drag down to your level.

Sulking in the fact that we should be in the Sugar Bowl and Oklahoma should be whipping up on Ohio State... This season took about 10 years off my life.

DennisVols writes:

"Only those not afraid to lose, will ever have a chance to win"
Complaining about a 10 win season after starting 1-2 is like whinning about not getting desert when someone gives you a free meal.
Yes we should expect more from UT football. Can you expect to win every game in this conference? I doubt it. Can you expect to not get beat like we did against Florida and Bama? Yes.
Did we believe this team was going to be playing in the SEC Championship game following the Florida or Bama games? No way. Should be be happy we did? yes. Satisfied just to get there? no way.
You can pick and chose how you want to look at this team, take just the good or just the bad or be smart enough to look at it all.
The final measuring stick will be this bowl game. Don't think for a second that the other team doesn't want it just as bad or that their talent is any less. Don't depend on what scout or other so called experts say about a recruiting class. In the end they are wrong as much as they are right.
There were 5 times this year the #2 ranked team, with their higher ranked recruiting class, got beat by an unranked team.
I chose to believe, take the positive over the negitive. Losers whine about what they did not get and winners learn from mistakes and live to fight another day.
I'll be supporting UT in this game and all the others in the years to come.

Hmmm. let's see. Outback Bowl, usually at that time would be in Waffle House knocking back a $11.65 life-threatening load of grease. However since Phil-huggin' Hamilton got us into the "get-up with the roosters" outing, I may have to change. Home-made biscuits with red-eye gravy and home fries, eggs easy over and tall glass of milk may suffice. Look out over 162 acres of hills and bottom land and realize 2007's adventure is OVER. For some of us, it ended in Tuscaloosa. For others, they trudged on hoping, hoping. Have to pull for LSU, SEC brethern although Hawaii stunning Jawga would cause me to grin. Shame! Go Vols, doubt you will, think Wisconsin will want it a ton more. Merry Christmas.

BigOrangeVol29 writes:

Well said, dlskaggs. I'm not all that thrilled that wouldn't couldn't be a prone LSU team, but I will be at home, watching this game hoping with all my heart that the Vols can win.

DennisVols writes:

I saw where some complained that this game was too early to do any good tailgating. I suggest starting the night before.
In the Army we always said "We do more before the rest of the world gets up, than they will do all day."
Go Vols!!!!!

busterjm#354454 writes:

I live here in Tampa and I'm a Gator but here are some suggestions about the game and Tampa if you decide to come. I've done this the last two times the Gators played here. Stay AWAY from Ybor. The area north of Ybor is the worst area in Tampa. People are always robbed there. Go to Channelside which is in downtown Tampa. Wait to buy tickets the day of the game. Get there early and buy the cheapest ticket b/c you can stand in the endzone instead of sitting way up in nosebleed. It is not as cramped and it is close to concession and the restrooms. Good Luck!! Go SEC!!!

DSaVol writes:

This is about one stupid poll! Who the hell cares what anybody else will be doing??? All that matters is what the team will doing and we ALL pretty much know what that will be. Maybe though, somebody will give Demonte Bolden the wrong directions and he'll end up in Ybor!

Stumps writes:

does Ainge get a chance to redeem himself?

or will this turn into an early tryout for the QB spot for next season?

unless it's the sugar bowl or BCS game, bowl games are so anti-climatic. there is no real, tangible meaning of the outcome either way.

Not going to spend another dollar to support Fulmer. I'm done with him. So, TV it is. I went to California, Alabama, and FL this year for road games. Enough is enough.

I live in Tampa so I will be at the game. However, I hope the "Orange Nation" shows up big and actually gets excited about the game. Last year we are outnumbered 2-1 and the crowd support of the team left much to be desired. Even when it was close there wasn't much crowd noise. Let's be ready let loose. Go vols!

GoVol,

I went to Alabama, Atlanta and the Vandy game this year. The closest one to me was Atlanta. Wherever the Vols are is home to me. I'll be going to support Fulmer, Ainge and the rest of our boys in Florida for the Outback bowl. I can't believe that Penn State outnumbered us last year. Don't let it happen again. The VolNation needs to rise up. We still have recruits to get. They need to know that the base is going to be behind them.

what do you do that you have to work on New Years?
i was just wondering. i went to every game this year traveled to every away game and I like Fulmer i think he represents our team with class. but i can not stand that sissy we have taking the snaps. i love the Vols and will watch them on tv for the first time this year but ive had enough of Ainge and thankfully wont have to hear his name again after Jan 1.

I will go watch a "incredibly young U.T. team", compete with a good Wisconsin team, in Tampa/St.Pete. And... I will watch them win one more game, for another 10 win season.

Oh, and for you Ainge haters...
If you think we currently have a QB in the program, that will 'sweep Georgia', 'South Carolina', 'Kentucky', 'Arkansas', 'Old Miss.', 'Vanderbilt', 'Mississippi State', 2-1 -v- Alabama, etc. I want the Kool-aid you are drinking.

We have a HUGE hole to fill next year on offense at the Quarterback position. Crompton?
Stevens? Coleman? Why not Jones?

Truth is, they don't have a clue right now. That's what happens when you 'lose a four year starter,' who's headed to a career on Sundays!

The coaches will figure it out though. I hope whoever it is can get us 'into two SEC Championship games', in his four years of play. Or at least 'one SEC East championship' if they are a two year starter.

This team needs veteran receivers, bigger receivers, and maturity big time.

The "good side is", they definitely have matured beyond their years over this season. Playing 18 year olds on the 'corners', 'safeties', 'wide receivers' is going to cost you some games early, but "they all got better", and several of them will need surgery after the Bowl Game...

All for their Alma Mater...And their dreams of playing professional football.

Go VOLS, beat Wisconsin!

Southland writes:

MAINLY i'LL BE HOPING THAT THE VOLS DO NOT PLAY AS STUPID AS THEY HAVE IN THE PAST BOWL GAMES THEIR PLAY REMINDS ME OF WHEN JOHNNY MAJORS AND THE TEAM GOT ALL LIQUORED UP AND COULDN'T PLAY OR COACH

I'll be in KY supporting the Vols! The bowl season is the one time I actually pull for Florida and Kentucky. Go SEC!

GO VOLS!!

CrankE writes:

I wonder what Tennessee will be doing while I watch? Dropping 4th down passes? running out of bounds for 2 yard gains? Missing FGs? All the great stuff that got us there. I'd like to think Tennessee will finish up strong and maybe (gasp) let the younger kids get some game experience to set the table for next year. I'd also like to have the next $100M powerball winning ticket.

pdparker14 writes:

I will only watch if and only if I know for sure that Wisconsin hasn't paid off Erik Ainge to throw the game like LSU did in the SEC title game. I will watch if and only if Fulmer benches Ainge for the bowl game and lets Cropmton get some needed experience for next year. In this instance, Ainge has earned his place on the bench for the Vols. Let Crompton go ahead and take charge. Unless this is what happens, I have better things to do than to watch Tennessee dissapoint me for the umpteenth time this season and I refuse to let them ruin my New Years Day...again.

Stumps writes:

bigorangejeff...

feeling a bit angry?

I'm one of the ones who responded with "not interested"

why?

because unless TN is playing in the sugar bowl or other BCS bowl or for the national title, bowl games mean nothing - they mean $$ to the school and they mean bragging rights to fans of different conferences, but so stinking what. For small market teams or teams from smaller conferences, the bowl game may be all they play for all year, but for TN and other SEC teams, the bowl game is a consolation prize.

Plus, with the Cotton bowl whipping of Texas A&M aside, TN plays like the bowl games don't mean anything, as well. I love the Vols, I travel to TN to see a game each fall, but I'm not going to bother watching the game, the season is over.

outback bowl? what the heck is that?

jackvolsfan1 writes:

I will be watching on TV. Glad that Hamilton got the early game he wanted so I can either put the UT gear away when they lose or celebrate when they win. But someone need to remind Erik Ainge that his receivers will be wearing orange & white, not red & white. I think that Tennessee wins by a FG or get blown-out by 17pts or more.

Sure hope they win
GO VOLS!!!
GO SEC!!!! (even 'Bama & osaban bin lyin)
