Holly Warlick will get an unexpected taste of a fan's perspective for Tennessee's women's basketball games at UCLA and Stanford this week.
The Lady Vols' associate head coach will not make the West Coast trip because of a blood clot in her right calf muscle. She suffered a broken right ankle during a workout on Dec. 7.
"It's strictly a health issue, Warlick said. "It's not my decision but I have to do what the doctor says.
Warlick said that she felt a knot in her leg on Friday. The clot was detected by ultrasound examination.
Tennessee plays at UCLA on Wednesday and at Stanford on Saturday before breaking for Christmas. After that, the Lady Vols' next games aren't until a road trip to DePaul (Jan. 2) and Notre Dame (Jan. 5). Warlick said her condition will be re-evaluated before that trip.
In the meantime, Warlick said that she will prepare the scouting reports for the UCLA and Stanford games. They will be presented by assistants Nikki Caldwell and Dean Lockwood.
As for game day? "I'll just have to be a fan and yell at the radio and TV,'' Warlick said.

Blood clots are certainly no fun and dangerous, I was in ICU for three weeks in 2005 for blood clots in my abdomen.
Get well soon!!!
GO VOLS!
