Sanders says he's no longer candidate at Western Carolina
Kentucky quarterbacks coach and former Tennessee offensive coordinator Randy Sanders told The Tennessean he no longer considers himself a candidate in the Western Carolina coaching search.
Sanders told The Asheville Citizen-Times earlier this month he would be interested in the opening. Last week former UT quarterback Heath Shuler included Sanders on a list of possible replacements to Western Carolina athletic director Chip Smith.
Sanders told the Tennessean the situation had changed.
"I haven't talked to anybody at Western Carolina in a while,'' Sanders said.
"I don't think anything is going to happen. I don't think it's a good fit right now. Not unless a lot of things change in a hurry."
