Riggs, Douglas, Hall assigned to NFL Europe

Former Tennessee running back Gerald Riggs Jr. and two more former Vols are headed overseas to continue their football careers.

Riggs, along with defensive end Jason Hall and offensive lineman Cody Douglas, were assigned to NFL Europe.

Riggs, who will play for the Rhine Fire, was signed by the Chicago Bears on Feb. 8. He signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent last April but was released in September.

Douglas was a second-round selection of the Cologne Centurions after the Tennessee Titans resigned him to the active roster in January.

Hall, who signed with Carolina in January after being waived by the Buffalo Bills before the start of the season, also will play for Cologne.
