Orange and White game March 31

Spring practice isn't as far away as you might think for the University of Tennessee football team.

UT has released its tentative spring drill plans Thursday with practices set to begin on Feb. 22.

The Vols will have 15 practice dates including the annual Orange and White game at Neyland Stadium on March 31 at 2 p.m.

Tennessee went 9-4 and capped off the 2006 season with a 20-10 loss to Penn State at the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla.

UT's annual Pro Timing Day, where NFL hopefuls get a chance to impress scouts, is March 21 and closed to the public.

The Spring Coaches Clinic is set for March 23-24.

Also in the works is the 26th annual Strength and Conditioning Clinic set for Feb. 16-17.

Head strength and conditioning coach Johnny Long and his staff will host the two-day event inside the Neyland-Thompson Sports Clinic.

Pre-registration fee is $30 for a Friday symposium. Pre-registration for Saturday's clinic is an additional $45 for coaches and $30 for student-athletes.

Pre-registration fees must be postmarked by Feb. 9 and registration at the door is an additional $10 Friday and $5 Saturday.
