The 6-foot-3, 175-pound wide receiver said the USC coaching staff asked him to make the switch.
"They said it would be better that weekend," he said.
Paige is also considering Tennessee, Florida and Florida State. He has already taken an official visit to each school.
Paige said he plans to announce his decision on Feb. 5. National Signing Day is Feb. 7.
Paige said Alabama head coach Nick Saban has recently made a push for him to consider the Crimson Tide. Paige said he was interested in Alabama until he rescheduled his visit to USC.
Paiges visit to USC will be his fifth official visit, the maximum allowed per NCAA rules. He also took an official visit to Georgia in October.
Paige told GoVolsXtra.com earlier this week he was anxious to see USCs campus so he can compare it to the other schools on his list.
"Theyre definitely in it because they have great coaches and they come and see me," he said. "I just havent seen it to give them a real measuring stick against everyone else."
Visitors: UTs only official visitor this weekend is Markish Jones, a 6-foot, 180-pound receiver from Broome High School in Spartanburg, S.C.
