On the board:
Prospect Size Pos. Hometown School
Marvin Austin 6-3, 300 DT Washington, D.C. Ballou
The best undecided prospect in the nation. The Florida State talk has gotten so strong, you wonder if any other team is really in the hunt. Seems like someone likes drama. He'll announce on National Signing Day on Feb. 7.
Lennon Creer 6-1, 202 TB Tatum, Texas Tatum
Not so hard to predict if you believe his good friend and teammate Darnius Moore committed to UT on Christmas night, as he told the News Sentinel. Did Moore change his story because Creer wasnt ready to announce? Neither are doing interviews. Creer took a visit to Alabama on Tuesday. Looks like UT but Alabama and Oklahoma are determined to stay in the hunt.
Cory Hall 6-5, 260 DL Chattanooga Brainerd
Hall said he's leaning towards signing with Marshall, where he can enroll immediately and sit out a year if academic problems can't be overcome. Those same problems would force Hall to prep school if he signed with UT, as per SEC rules.
Dwight Jones 6-4, 210 WR Burlington, N.C. Cummings
After meeting with new North Carolina coach Butch Davis, Jones said he's still committed but has not leader. Go figure. UT isn't just in this one, it may lead. Clemson is also in the hunt.
Markish Jones 6-0, 180 WR Spartanburg, S.C. Broome
A Clemson commit who took an official visit to UT on Jan 27. Still has an official visit to Alabama on Feb. 2.
Marquise Maze 5-9, 160 WR Birmingham, Ala. Tarrant
Told the Birmingham News he will choose between UT, Alabama and Miami on Feb. 7. Committed to Michigan last summer before re-opening his recruitment earlier this month. Said UT could be the team to beat because of his close relationship to UT's coaching staff.
Ahmad Paige 6-3, 175 WR Sterlington, La. Sterlington
Paige rescheduled his Southern Cal visit for this weekend so his decision is on hold. Paige said he's not considering Alabama but the Tide are pushing hard. He's also considering UT, Florida and Florida State, where he de-committed from.
Brandon Paul 5-10, 185 CB Tallahassee, Fla. Lincoln
A long shot. Still entertaining several schools. As long as he's from Tallahassee, Florida State is the school to beat.
Rae Sykes 6-4, 245 DE Alcoa Alcoa
Deciding between UT and Florida State. Really seemed to enjoy official visit to FSU last weekend. UT coach Phillip Fulmer will visit for an in-home on Wednesday followed by official to UT on Feb. 2. No announcement expected until Feb. 7.
Off the Board
Curenski Gilleylen 6-0, 210 WR Leander, Texas Leander
Committed to Nebraska.
Jourdon Brooks 6-1, 240 RB/LB Germantown, Md. Seneca Valley
Committed to Rutgers.
Michael McNeil 6-2, 200 S Mobile, Ala. Davidson
Committed to Auburn.
Memorable moments in Pat Summitt's…
