It's almost that time of year again: Football time in Tennessee! Just typing those words gives me goosebumps.
Each year, the online staff at GoVolsXtra treks out to Neyland Stadium for Media Day and shoots video of as many new and returning football players as we can.
Last year, 17 video interviews were posted on GoVolsXtra during the regular football season.
Normally, we come up with interview questions on our own. We don't want to put too much pressure on these guys, so we usually ask something light-hearted: Do you have a nickname? What do you do when you're not playing football? Who is your hero?
This year we'd like to ask your advice. What do you want to know about your returning Vols? How can we help you get to know the incoming Freshmen?
Leave your suggestions below in the comment area and we'll compile a list of our favorites to take to Media Day 2007.

Simple: What's your goal during your time at UT? I think we would tell a lot about what's going to happen the next few seasons by the way they answer that question...

Do you plan to keep your nose clean, abide by team rules, and not participate in criminal activity or do illicit drugs?

Do you want to kick Georgia's ass real bad again?

Ask Fulmer what has happened to the offensive lines of old. I can't remember the last time we blew anyone off the ball. Then ask the offensive lineman if they're man enough to be dominant once again. This is the key to our season, no doubt.

Do you feel any added pressure considering the hype surrounding the basketball team? Does this add any motivation for the team to perform better?

3 Biggies
For the Linebackers. Can you play your assignment and not over pursue?
For the Special Teams. Can you play your assignment and cover a kick return?
For the Coaches. Will you actually fix these two areas?

1.) Will we be playing more aggressively this year?
2.) Does the team, individually and as a whole, realize what an honor playing for the Vols is and that each and everything they do on and off the field reflects not only their character, but that of there school and fans?
3.) Who among the offensive line and the RB will step up to play smash mouth football this season?
4.) Who will step up and shut Cal up since they're talking about how they should have gone undefeated last year and they probably will this year?
5.) And the last one is a comment for the players... Most every Tennessee fan has been such for dang near their entire life. Each season and each game we live and die with the team, from the stats that this team has (on an individual basis) we should not lose a game, however life doesn't always work out perfectly. Just give it all you have every day and we will see you in Atlanta for the SEC Championship this year.

For Coach Chavis....it seems like over the last several years (esp in the SEC) we have given up crucial 1st downs in 3rd and long situations, 3rd and very long...the LSU game last year for example, at home...do you have any plans to put more pressure on the QB this year and blitz more on 3rd and long?

I'd like to ask if they think the Vols should get a little more aggressive and maybe take a few more calculated risks. Seems like sometimes we're more interested in not losing a game than actually winning one. FL game last year is prime example.

Wow! There's a lot of material to cover here.
I suppose I should have been more specific in my request. I'll only have about 5 minutes with each player and more than likely no option to speak with the coaches. I was trying to come up with general questions that I could ask every player.
There are some great questions here and I'm taking notes.
Keep them coming!

ask them are they ready to play tn football of past i.e. mean, fast and refuse to lose.
Also where do they like to party since arriving at tn :)

Instead of "where do you like to party?" how about "what do you do when you aren't playing football?"
I *would* like to be invited back, guys! LOL

Ask the returning WRs and DBs what they think of the coaching staff bringing in JUCO players. Does it motivate them to do better or is it a slap in the face. I saw where it ran off Slick.

Are you going to give your all to Tennessee today and everyday you're in these halls? That free ride comes with a price, and that price is ethics...ethics on and off the field.
