Former Tennessee Lady Vol Violeta Retamoza (2002-06), won the Alliance Bank Golf Classic at The Links at Erie Village in Syracuse, N.Y., on Sunday.
Retamoza came back from shooting a 75 on the first day to finish with a 5-under-par 208 (75-66-67). The title is her first since joining the Duramed Futures Tour this year and fourth top-10 finish.
Other former Lady Vols who have played on the Futures Tour are Stacey Bergman, Anna Umemura and current UT assistant coach Carrie Cole. Jessica Shepley, a 2005 graduate, also is on the tour. She tied for 42nd at 220.
