HOOVER, Ala. — Tennessee’s incoming class of players appears to be complete.
Rufus Williams, a defensive end/linebacker from Titusville, Fla., likely will enroll in prep school or junior college, according to UT coach Phillip Fulmer.
“We’re still waiting on Rufus’ final academic business,” Fulmer said.
Even without Williams, the Vols already have awarded their 27 available scholarships for 2007.
Twenty-six of those are on campus already, and Fulton High School running back Dennis Rogan has been admitted and will enroll this fall.
Three players enrolled in junior college — Rae Sykes, Rolando Melancon and Cory Hall — and one player asked for and received a release from his national letter of intent.
Karl Update: Senior strong side linebacker Ryan Karl has a “small compression fracture” in his back, Fulmer said.
Karl, who has not participated in offseason workouts since injuring his back earlier this month, is still expected to be able to participate in fall camp.
“There’s a little bit of a wait-and-see,” Fulmer said. “I’m getting all the information that he should be fine by the time we get to camp or at least a week into camp,” “Until I see it, I’m anticipating somebody else to have to be ready to start at the (strong side) linebacker position.”
Adam Myers-White, a junior, would be the first player to take first-team snaps in Karl’s absence.

Guess that Adam Myers-White has grown into a linebacker by now. Unless we're thinking of freaks like Patrick Watkins at safety, he's too tall, and he got torched a few times at the high school All America game here a few years back. Go Vols! SAVol
