New York Jets coach Eric Mangini thinks former University of Tennessee running back Cedric Houston’s departure is a permanent one.
Houston left the team abruptly Thursday for personal reasons.
“He’s made a decision that he wants to move on with the rest of his life,” Mangini said Friday. “I respect that decision. He thought it was what was best for him.”

Probably got some injury from running right square into the back of one of those stout NFL O-linemen.

What else is Cedric going to do that would pay him a six figure salary? Something smells a little bit here. Jimmy Smith opted not to play anymore here in Jacksonville rather abruptly. Word was he knew his next drug screen was his last. Not saying this is the case with Ced, and money isn't everything, but again, I ask, what other prospects did he have that were as inviting as playing running back in the NFL?
