It doesn’t take an aficionado to see that Dallas Thomas has some football potential.

First, there’s his size, 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds. Then, there’s his athletic ability, impressive enough that Tennessee’s coaches offered the lineman from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge a scholarship shortly after seeing him take part in last Saturday’s senior camp.

Looking for more proof? Thomas already has 11 scholarship offers from schools like Florida State, Alabama and LSU. The Vols were the latest to officially jump on the bandwagon.

"I like their program," Thomas said. "It’s nice up there. I like it a lot, the coaches and their facilities."

Although Thomas spoke glowingly of UT’s campus, there was one drawback to the visit.

"It has a lot of hills around there," Thomas said. ‘That’s going to take some getting used to."

Thomas also traveled to Ole Miss for a summer camp. He said Oxford, much like Knoxville, was impressive.

"I liked it up there a lot, too," Thomas said.

That doesn’t necessarily mean UT and Ole Miss lead for his services. Thomas said he’s still considering all schools that have offered him a scholarship.
