Bradley LeCroy is following his old boss Todd Raleigh to the University of Tennessee.
Raleigh, named UT baseball coach last week, made LeCroy his first assistant coaching hire in an announcement made Wednesday.
LeCroy was an infielder and hitting assistant in 2006 and 2007 at Western Carolina, where Raleigh worked as coach for eight years prior to replacing Rod Delmonico at UT.
"We're all very excited about having Bradley join the program," Raleigh said in a UT release. "He's young, energetic, a great recruiter and is also skilled in player development. Our infielders should really benefit from working with him, but his impact will reach the entire program.
"He played at Clemson and worked on my staff at Western Carolina, so philosophically we're on the same page. He's been to Omaha (for the College World Series), so he knows what it takes for a team to reach that goal. Bradley's got a great mind for the game and also has a wonderful family. He'll be a key part of our program moving forward."
LeCroy spent 2003-05 working at his alma mater as Clemson made three NCAA tournament appearances.
"He (Bradley was) an outstanding middle infielder and one of the most versatile and athletic players that I've ever coached," Clemson coach Jack Leggett said in the UT release. "He's an excellent coach working with the infielders and hitters. He has great knowledge of the game, and he has an exciting future in coaching."
