"You'd really like to have another month of spring practice for our defensive front and our offensive front," he said.
Fulmer's improved mood concerning his offensive line coincided with sophomore offensive guard Anthony Parker's return from a sore knee that kept him out of the opening weeks of spring drills.
"They're getting after it," Fulmer said. "Some of the young ones don't understand yet but there's seven guys that we can put in a game and play right now."
One of those guys is junior Ramon Foster, who was named the most improved offensive player of spring practice. Defensively, Fulmer has also been encouraged as of late.
"At the beginning of the spring," he said, "we weren't playing like we had any defensive tackles."
The improvement of junior Demonte' Bolden and sophomore Dan Williams under the leadership of senior J.T. Mapu has caught Fulmer's eye.
"Now, are they John Henderson?" Fulmer said. "No, but they can be darn, good tough guys."
