The Vols season-opener at California on Sept. 1 will be broadcast nationally in high definition by ABC (WATE in Knoxville), as part of the networks ESPN on ABC coverage.
Last years opener against Cal, a 35-18 Tennessee victory, was broadcast on ESPN.
The Vols last appeared on ABC in 2003, when they defeated Miami 10-6, its 11th appearance on the network since 1995.
Tennessee has won its last 12 season-openers.
West to Atlanta: Deep snapper Ryan West signed a free agent deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, marking the fifth former Vol to agree to a deal after the NFL draft.
West snapped on field goals and punts for the last two seasons.
Fullback Cory Anderson (Houston), wide receiver Jayson Swain (Chicago), defensive tackle Matt McGlothlin (Kansas City) and kicker James Wilhoit (Baltimore) have also agreed to deals.
Six Vols were drafted over the weekend, making 11 former Vols who will attend an NFL camp.
