Tennessee received a No. 3 seed and will host Furman at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the first round of the NCAA women's soccer tournament.
The 64-team field was announced Monday and the Lady Vols were placed in the division with UCLA as No. 1 seed.
Other top seeds were North Carolina, Stanford and Penn State.
Furman (16-5-1) upset North Carolina Greensboro 3-1 to win the Southern Conference championship.
The Lady Vols (13-4-2) are coming off a 2-0 loss to South Carolina in the first round of the SEC tournament.
"We are happy and relieved to be a host," said UT coach Angela Kelly. "We haven't played well lately, but this is a brand new season."
Friday's match will be followed at 8 p.m. by a match between Clemson and Charlotte. The winners meet at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tennessee was one of six SEC teams in the field. Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, LSU and Auburn are the others.
Cross Country: The Lady Vols' streak of consecutive NCAA Championships is over at five after the field for the event Nov. 19 was announced Monday.
Tennessee was not among the entries and no Lady Vols made it as individuals.
The disappointing news comes after UT managed a fourth-place finish at the South Regionals on Saturday at Gainesville, Fla.
