Tennessee sophomore guard Josh Tabb will need to undergo surgery after suffering a broken small bone near his eye socket in Tuesday's practice.
Tabb, who took an inadvertent blow to the face from J.P. Prince during a 5-on-5 scrimmage, is expected to miss at least 10 days.
Tabb's absence should mean more repetitions for sophomore transfer J.P. Prince and incoming freshman Cameron Tatum.
Prince is a versatile 6-foot-8 athlete who has shown an ability to handle the ball and drive to the basket.
The 6-6 Tatum, along with incoming freshman post Brian Williams, is trying to earn a spot in the Vols' 10-man rotation.
Tabb established himself as one of the top defenders in the SEC last season and most often drew the opponents' top perimeter scorers.

Not good; I like Josh Tabb a lot, he's what helps solidify a team. I think Bruce will play however many guys he can if all are pushing hard, so maybe this helps out the newcomers a bit.

That's one way to secure more repetitions.
Joking aside, speedy recovery Josh. We need you out there.
