At least two official visitors

Tennessee is planning on having at least two official visitors for this weekend: tailback commitment Tauren Poole from Stephens County High School in Toccoa, Ga. and defensive tackle Jeremy Lewis from West Palm Beach (Fla.) High.

UT is also trying to secure a visit from defensive end Lavar Edwards from Desire Street Academy in Baton Rouge, La.

I hope Poole keeps his commitment to UT, but I wouldn't blame him one bit if he didn't after the Hardesty fiasco.

"Son, come to Tennessee and you too could experience the feeling of being the 2nd leading rusher on the team, and getting completely ignored and overlooked by your position coach, Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach during a game against our biggest rival"

Hey BigUN, let's do all that we can to discourage players from coming to UT.
"If the coaches don't ignore you, the fans will surely make up for it with negative posts about your team."

Good Post revjulian.

Does anyone have at least one positive thing to say about the program? If I was a recruit reading all this negativity I'd have a poor picture of the UT fan base.

Nothing good ever came from a bunch of whining.

Ironcity writes:

BigUN do you actually believe that a recruit is concerned about the playing time of the third string halfback? I have never heard so much bellyaching over a guy who has played three decent games his entire career at UT. As I have said before there are plenty of things to criticize Fulmer about, however not playing Hardesty (for the third time this year) is not one of them. At least not after reading this story.

BigUn writes:

You don't think playing your 2nd leading rushing one single snap against one of our biggest rivals is a big deal? Ok how about this? Fulmer originally said he didn't know why Hardesty didn't play. So the Head Coach of a major D1 program forgets about a RB that has had major playing time the past two weeks and it's not a big deal?

No wonder UT has slipped into mediocrity with expectations like those.

Volaholic - this is 2007, not 1998. Team could be good, effort and preparation is awful! Go Vols!

I agree about keeping negative comments off these sites. Mike Hamilton's email has been given out several times, that is where your displeasure should be voiced. We have no control over the coaching staff unless we are going to send Mike a bigggggg check to buy Fulmer out!!! Our expectations are championships!!! or at least competing for them on an annual basis. I don't want our program to stay in mediocrity anymore than anyone else!!! but that being said I will continue to support the VOLS and the University of Tennessee!!! no matter whom is coaching!!!
GO VOLS!!!!
beat the GAMECOCKS!!!

Sounds like the new strategy is to talk these recruits out of coming here. Losing more games means getting a better coach, right? Not sure I agree with all that. Personally, I'd rather the process not be so public. I'm probably in the minority but I'd rather give recruits the impression that Tennessee is a good place to be.

Ironcity writes:

BigUn I don't think its a big deal to not play our second leading rusher. I think our second best rusher is Coker. I believe his work last year puts him far ahead of Hardesty. I really believe that the one problem UT doesn't have is at running back. If you want to know the truth, I wish Hardesty was playing Linebacker or Safety.

I agree that we shouldn't give ammunition to other schools and discourage recruits, but it probably doesn't matter. There were actually some so-called Florida fans wanting Meyer fired after they lost to Auburn, so the situation here won't shock anybody. If UT makes a change, recruiting will suffer for at least one year. Period. I just hope we don't bring in some flavor-of-the-year coach from a creampuff conference (Big East, ACC) who has one lucky year.

I am sure that if the basketVols don't win the SEC and reach the Final Four there will be idiots on here screaming for Pearl's job too.
