Mark Jones tears tendon in knee

TAMPA, Fla. — Former University of Tennessee player Mark Jones of Tampa Bay is out for the season after suffering a torn patellar tendon in his left knee.

Jones, the primary kick and punt returner, as well as a reserve receiver.

Jones was taken from the field on a cart after the injury during a first-quarter kickoff Sunday against Detroit.

"It's unfortunate,'' Bucs coach John Gruden said. "He was one of the top return specialists in football.''

We wish you well, Mark Jones. I wish Tennessee Vols had some more Mark Jones's right now!

One of the best all around players ever at UT with a heart as big as Neyland Stadium. His two way play his senior season was far superior to what Michigan's CW did in 1997 (1997 - the year I decided to never watch the Heistman Award Show again). However, for some funny reason, Mark never got the hype and pub and was never mentioned for the Heistman. Get well soon Mark.
