Sophomore center Wayne Chism has been diagnosed with a concussion that was caused by a blow to the head during practice Tuesday afternoon at Pratt Pavilion. After being transported to UT Medical Center, Chism underwent a series of tests that proved to be negative. Late Tuesday night he was released to the care of the Tennessee athletics medical staff where he is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis. At this time, it is too early to determine when he might return to full activity.

Jordan must have a thick skull to knock Wayne out cold. We need to be healthy this season to reach our lofty goals. Govols.

Glad to hear it's not a major injury. Get well Wayne.
On a separate subject, one of the Memphis paper writers said he thinks Eliot Williams is down to UT and Virginia but that he thinks he'll sign with Virginia. Not sure how he'd know but that's his opinion. On something that is entirely expected: The University of Memphis fan base has down graded Williams to a one star recruit and they don't want him anymore. Funny how that happens when it looks like a recruit is dropping your school.

I had a chance to watch Chism play for 4 years in high school. It will take more than that to keep him out for long. See you back on the floor soon, big guy.
