The Tennessee Lady Vols golf team finished fourth at the Las Vegas Showdown at Angel Park Mountain Golf Course.
Tennessee's rounds of 282, 297 and 300 brought the team score to 879 and out of reach of first-place Denver, which finished with a 6-under-par 858 total. Denver's Katie Kempter took the individual title with an 8-under 208.
"Obviously today was frustrating," UT coach Judi Pavon said. "They are hitting the ball very well, but our putting continues to plague us. We had chances to challenge second place, but let several shots get away when we got close."
Senior Marci Turner was tied with Kempter after the first round, as they each shot 5-under 67. Turner then shot 72-75 to finish at 2-under 214 and tied for fourth.
Sophomore Angela Oh finished in a tie for 17th after shooting 76 for a 220 total.
Junior Nicole Smith made the biggest jump on the leaderboard, shooting 73 to improve 11 places and tie for 26th at 223.
Sophomore Diana Cantu shot 77 and freshman Rebecca Watson shot 76.
Tennessee will play in the Hooters Match Play in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 4-6. The fifth-seeded Lady Vols will be paired with the No. 12 seed Michigan State.
