Florida's 2008 recruiting class received a huge boost Thursday when the Gators received a commitment from one of the nation's elite prospects.
Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep quarterback/safety Will Hill announced on ESPNU on Thursday night that he will be signing with Florida in February over Southern Cal.
"I can tell you I'm going to be a Gator," Hill said before putting on a blue Gator cap and an orange tie.
"From what I've seen of Coach (Urban) Meyer and the others on the coaching staff, it's like a family (something he said was similar to his high school team)," Hill said.
Hill made an official visit to Florida for last weekend's Tennessee game. He had planned to visit Southern Cal in two weeks, but now has canceled that visit.
Hill is a five-star prospect, according to Rivals.com and Scout.com. He's rated the nation's No. 1 athlete by Rivals, while Scout ranks him the No. 1 free safety prospect in the nation.
Hill is the second prospect to commit to the Gators after visiting this past weekend, joining Orlando Boone cornerback Jeremy Brown, who gave his pledge to Florida on Sunday. Hill told the Gainesville Sun that meeting Brown last week during their respective official visits sealed the deal. They became fast friends and talked about being a part of the nation's No. 1 secondary, Hill said.
Florida has commitments from eight prospects.

You been hanging out with Adam's, Dave? He wasnt considering us so why write an article about someone else going to Florida? What I love to read about as a Vols fan.

Maybe because we have to play them every year and it's interesting to know who the Vols will be lining up against. Maybe because it's indicative of what Higgins article stated. That playmakers of this caliber aren't looking at UT any more because of the style of play. Nah, none of us should be interested in such worthless information.

Almost a week later and Florida just scored again!!

Oh, yeah. All the whining REALLY helps recruiting when they read the comments on this site.

Mabye we should change the name of this site to "Go Gators Extra". What do we care who decided to go to Florida.

He wasn't on our recruiting list because we are no longer an upper echelon team.
Plus, Phil and Chavis didn't think he would fit in playing "Tennessee" defense because this guy probably covers receivers and doesn't miss tackles by the dozen like our players, with the exception of Berry.

So we beat Arkansas State; Big Whoop!

We should care who is going to UF considering we are competing against these guys for the same athletes and we have to play them every year.

Page 3 of the play book...JCVET, you give them too much credit. We have only gotten through page 3 in 4 games equating to less than 1 page per game
Great, innovative, winner. Call Myers what you will but he is getting the job done and it all starts with recruiting talent. Phil took a long ride on his recruiting and now the ride has come to a halt. Get off the train Phil. Florida will beat us for the next 7 years.

JC and ATL...haha my sentiments exactly.
Maybe we have been, but if the gravy train that is Fulmer and his staff of complacency and complexity keep it up then we will be lucky to get FL's recruit scraps after they hand out all their scholarships. Who wants to play for the 8th best team in the SEC? Think about it, it used to be OLE MISS..

KEEP FULMER AS A COACH AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINING. WE ARE LOSING GROUND TO ALL THE OTHER SEC TEAMS. WHEN YOU TAKE A BEATING LIKE THE GATORS GAVE US IT IS GOING TO HURT THE RECRUITING. IF YOU WERE LOOKING TO PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL AND YOU WATCHED THE UT FLORIDA GAME WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO PLAY FOR. WE BEAT ARK ST WHO CARES BIG DEAL THATS REAL IMPRESSIVE. LETS SEE FULMER GET HIS TEAM TOGETHER AND WIN SOME GAMES AGAINST SOME GOOD TEAMS(GA,ALA,ARK,SC,KY).
