University of Tennessee linebacker Dorian Davis was cited for disorderly conduct in his hometown of Iowa City, Iowa over the weekend, according to the Iowa City Police Department.
Davis was cited, but neither arrested nor booked, around 6:15 p.m. Saturday in Iowa City at 3455 E. Court St. The Vols' lone open date of the season was Saturday.
An official copy of the citation and details of the incident were not immediately available Sunday, a police spokeswoman said.
UT coach Phillip Fulmer said he was looking into the matter when reached by phone Sunday evening.
Davis, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound sophomore, has recorded nine tackles and one forced fumble in four games this season. He played in all 12 games last season, primarily on special teams.
Drew Edwards covers University of Tennessee football. He may be reached at 865-342-6274.
