Tennessee’s Candace Parker has repeated her appearance on The Associated Press women’s All-America team.
But the real surprise this year was Connecticut sensation Maya Moore becoming only the second freshman selected to the team announced Tuesday.
Courtney Paris of Oklahoma joined Parker as a repeat and Sylvia Fowles of LSU and Candice Wiggins of Stanford made it for the first time.
Parker, a junior, received 250 points and was the only unanimous first-team choice among the 50-member national media panel that votes in the weekly Top 25.
Moore helped lead the Huskies to the Big East regular-season and conference tournament titles. She was the first freshman — male or female — to win conference player of the year.
The teams:

Congrats to all of the ladies who made the teams...HOWEVER, how does Alexis Hornbuckle not make at least Honorable Mention...I've seen a lot of thes ladies play and she is by far better and had a better season than most of them...Charde Houston had a good two games in the Big East Tourney and made it and Hornbuckle didn't??? Who has UTEP played and beat that would allow Natasha Lacy to make Honorable Mention and not Hornbuckle...Lacy wasn't even the best player on her team. Janelle Dobbs from SMU and no Hornbuckle??? Come on now!!!!! Abby Waner didn't have a good season at all and she made it???
