NEW YORK — The Tampa Bay Rays called up former University of Tennessee catcher Mike DiFelice on Saturday from Class AAA Durham.
Rays manager Joe Maddon said DiFelice could get his first start Monday, marking his 13th season in the major leagues.
The 38-year-old DiFelice played in 16 games last season for the Mets. The Bearden High School graduate was 0-for-1 with Durham.
