Alabama student tickets sell out quickly

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama students snapped up football tickets for the upcoming season shortly after they went on sale.

The tickets sold out within two hours and 20 minutes after becoming available Tuesday, athletic department spokesman Doug Walker said.

The university makes 15,000 tickets available to students per game, but 2,740 are three- and four-game passes reserved for incoming freshmen and transfers.

University spokeswoman Deborah Lane said there had been “significantly fewer” complaints from students who were unable to score tickets than last year, Nick Saban’s first as head coach.

“This is not a new situation for us,” Lane said Wednesday. “Our ticket demand has been very high for years and years.”

She said the university has also established an online pool where students can buy and sell tickets for specific games.

Comming off a 7-6 season that included a loss to LA Monroe and the Bamars are all fired up about a coach that had one great season at LSU but still averaged 3 losses a season. Remember last year when the fans were expecting a NC in his first year. Classic.

I am unfortunate enough to now live in Montgomery,AL and let me tell you first hand the bamers are crazy fanatics. We have had multiple TN stickers ripped from our cars and so on and so on. The sad fact is they seem to have more passion in Tuscaloosa than I see up in K-town these days. We need to get our fans and students as fired up as theirs. Oh by the way they (students) have to pay for their tickets as well, but don't seem to care. I was at the TN vs. AL game last year and that was the loudest I have heard a stadium with LSU being the exception. I mean 90K + at the spring game says it all. They make me sick.

They handed out a can of mullet dressing for each season ducat. Was a truckload of Royal Crown Pomade waiting and ready.

The minute we try, in any way, to emulate ala-stinkin'-bama is the day we need to turn in our Orange.

What's sad is we have an overall better program than they do and our fans seem to be lame ducks... that's sad. GO VOLS!!!

Who cares what the dirty cheating bastards from Tuscaloser are up to! I care only about Vol victories, especially beating Bammer's sorry @ss into the ground!

This passion is what makes football in the south so great. Ninety two thousand people in the stands for a spring game, that means nothing, is quite impressive.

While Tennessee may not have this much excitement brewing right now, we have not experienced the well deserved bad years that Alabama has had recently.

I was at last years UT-Al game too. I dont remember it being very loud...maybe it was for Bama, but not when compared to Tennessee, LSU and Florida...or even Georgia.

Neyland is the loudest. Period. I have been too all of them except Kaintuck and Columbia. TDB, stop drinking the Koolaid down there in Montgomery......

Bama had 72K at the Spring Game, not 90K.

Only reason they have that huge turnout is it is the only game Bama is confident they can win each year!

Loudest I ever heard was when Fla kicker missed the FG with ol Stevie staring in disbelief at Neyland. Believe that was when CBS lost their camera. And goalpost.

Thought the ol' girl was coming down.
