Professional basketball careers are not stopping five Tennessee players from earning their degrees.

Kerry Howland, the assistant director for the Thornton Center, said former Tennessee Lady Vols center Nicky Anosike is finishing her academic work by having two exams proctored at the University of Minnesota. Anosike was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx.

Howland said Candace Parker and fellow senior Shannon Bobbitt were finished while Alexis Hornbuckle and Alberta Auguste were completing their semester's work online.

Auguste has 15 hours left for her degree. Howland said that Auguste has given her word that she will finish.

"She promised me; she promised (coach) Pat (Summitt), too,'' Howland said.
