Carl Stewart signs with Tampa Bay

Carl Stewart, the former Maryville High School star, signed Sunday night with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent.

Stewart played mostly at fullback the past four years at Auburn. He rushed 20 times for 49 yards and two touchdowns in 2007. He also caught 14 passes for 214 yards.

Tampa Bay has a number of tailbacks, including Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn, Cadillac Williams, Michael Bennett and former Alabama back Ken Darby.

The two fullbacks on the roster are B.J. Askew and Bryon Storer. Askew played mostly special teams. Storer, who caught two passes in nine games, made the team after signing as an undrafted free agent last May.

The Bucs also drafted Cory Boyd of South Carolina in the seventh round.
