Sophomores Caitlin Whoriskey and Zsofia Zubor of Tennessee received at-large berths for the NCAA women's tennis championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla., May 21-26. The pair will play doubles and Whoriskey has been added to the singles draw.
Ranked No. 41 in the nation, Whoriskey is 16-8, including a 12-6 record at No. 1 singles.
Whoriskey and Zubor are ranked No. 16 with a 24-12 record with 11 wins over ranked opponents. Last year the pair reached the Round of 16.
Soccer: The UT women's soccer team schedule features a match against North Carolina on Aug. 21 in College Station, Texas. The home schedule starts with the First Tennessee Lady Vol Classic on Sept. 5 and 7. The Lady Vols will play host to Illinois, Washington State and West Virginia in the tournament.
Men's Golf: Tennessee senior Charlie Ford has been named to the European team for the 2008 Palmer Cup in Glasgow, Scotland. The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 26-27. The top collegiate players from the United States will tee off against their counterparts from Europe.
