For the second time in a year, Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen may have to explain his alleged participation in a situation involving alcohol.
And at least two other teammates might be doing some explaining with him.
The Chicago Tribune reported that Notre Dame will investigate possible school code violations after the Web site The Big Lead posted photos Monday that appear to depict Clausen, teammates Brian Smith and James Aldridge and one other individual attending what the site labeled “Beer Olympics.”
The pictures are not dated, and while there is beer on the table in front of the players, the photos do not show the players actively consuming alcohol.
No matter the date of the photos, at least two of the players would not be of legal drinking age: Clausen, who does not turn 21 until Sept. 21, and Smith, who does not reach 21 until 2010. Aldridge turned 21 on July 6.
A Notre Dame football spokesman said there was no comment from the team for the time being.
It could be the second alcohol-related run-in for Clausen, who was cited in June 2007 for transporting alcohol as a minor.
Both of Clausen's older brothers, Casey and Rick, were quarterbacks at Tennessee.

Wasn't Jimmy just a true freshman last year? He's about to turn 21? Unless Jimmy was held back a year or two at some point that doesn't add up.

I guess coming from the notoriety of being one of the top qb's in the nation in high school and biting on the glory hook of ND to a season like he and they had last year could drive a kid to drink. Too much pressure too quick or maybe the 5* rating was abused again.

Man, whatever happened to the college experience? I do not condone this type of behavior, but there are very few of us who can say that have not done the same while in school. Granted, only at Notre Dame do they do "olympics" around it. Lame. Very lame. But, it is getting harder and harder to be a high-profile college athlete. Next thing you know they will be posting You-Tube videos of Jimmy Clauson jay-walking. Get a life people. Really.

Alot of young atheletes today will be held back in school by there parents in middle school to give their child a better chance at success. Pretty bad I know. I do know of to or three that were held back in my county for that reason though and all went to college for sports

When I was on the Hill, a very popular fraternity drinking song was sung to the tune of the Notre Dame fight song, so Jimmy was probably doing extra-curricular music appreciation for credit! Thanks to his two older brothers for being Vols! Thanks to Jimmy for NOT being a Vol! Go Vols! SAVol
