Cornerback Brandon McGee from Plantation High School in Lauderhill, Fla., will announce his college decision at 10 a.m. on Monday.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound McGee said he will choose between Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida State and Miami. He has visited all but Ole Miss.

McGee, who holds 34 scholarship offers, recently trimmed Ohio State and North Carolina from his list.

McGee said he hasn’t decided which school he will select.

“I think it may go all the way down to even Monday, right before I announce,” he said. “It’s been so hectic.

“I’m kind of confused with the whole process. I’ll just look for guidance from my coaches, family and by praying on it.”

McGee said he would like to visit UT again this weekend to reassure himself before he makes his announcement. That trip, however, seems unlikely because of McGee’s busy schedule.

A drive from Lauderhill to Knoxville would take about 13 hours.

McGee took his first trip to UT in June. He said the visit left a favorable impression.

“The facilities up there were amazing,” he said. “The town itself, Knoxville is a great town. The coaching staff is very down to earth.”

McGee learned more about the staff, including secondary coach Larry Slade, while visiting with some of the defensive backs.

“They were just telling me good things about Coach Slade and different things about the defense,” McGee said. “That was cool to visit with those guys. They have some of the top talent on the team.”

McGee will now focus on his top priorities in choosing a school. He said he has a few factors he will weigh into his decision.

“The stability of the program as far as coaching changes and the chance to play early and step on the field early,” McGee said. “The direction the program is headed as well will definitely be big.”

Whichever school McGee selects will be his final choice.

McGee, who plans to graduate this fall and enroll in January, said he will only take an official visit to the school he chooses.

“I’m not going to play the decommit game and take visits or anything like that,” he said.
